School Improvement Partnership (SIP) is a one-stop shop to build capacity at your school or school district, empowering our leadership team with best practices and experienced practitioners.
Sensitive to your school's unique culture
The School Improvement Partnership team is compassionate, collaborative and experienced in public education. It is headed by Alan Wohlstetter, an attorney who has participated in over $500 million of bond financings for The School District of Philadelphia and financings for over 30 charter schools in five states. Paul Vallas, former Superintendent of the Chicago, Philadelphia and New Orleans schools, works closely with districts looking to improve performance, facilities and financial management. Arthur Mitchell, former Science Education Specialist for the State of New Jersey has worked with districts across the county around initiatives on STEM and Equity, and Cheryl Rush Dix spent twenty years coordinating the Science curriculum and managing partnerships for the Erie School District.
“I’ve worked with Alan Wohlstetter for over three years in his capacity as Underwriter’s counsel, and in his capacity as Borrower’s counsel. Alan is one of the few lawyers that have a firm grasp on both securities issues and state and federal charter school issues. Combined with his passion for education reform in general, and his client’s best interest specifically, I find Alan’s involvement in tax-exempt bond financings to be most supportive to any transaction involving charter school finance.”
“If you are preparing for your school’s charter renewal, I highly recommend School Improvement Partnership. Alan Wohlstetter and his team provided guidance and support throughout the entire process. His Team invested the time to learn about our school’s unique culture and mission then guided us through this very long arduous process. Our charter was successfully renewed thanks to Alan’s expertise.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Mr. Alan Wohlstetter to serve as counsel for your school board. As a board member of Family Foundations Academy, I had the privilege of working with Mr. Wohlstetter during our charter renewal process as well as the negative events that had recently occurred at the school regarding our senior administrators. I would have to say that Mr. Wohlstetter handled everything in support of the board and the school efficiently and expeditiously. Mr. Wohlstetter and his team are very passionate about the work that they produce.”
“I would like to thank you and your wonderful team for working with the Academy. The experience was extremely valuable and I’m certain that we will work towards implementing as many of the recommendations as possible.”
