Manager of Reporting Services

Maria Mills brings nearly 20 years of experience in public education, administration, budget and curriculum development. She currently serves as Manager of Reporting Services at SIP.

Maria served as Deputy Director with Charter Schools USA, overseeing multiple campuses and multi-million-dollar budgets while driving statewide gains in student achievement. Earlier, as executive director of Carolina Charter Academy, she led the school to tremendous growth and academic gains, secured major facility financing, and was named Wells Fargo NC Charter Principal of the Year in 2022. Previously to that, she worked for Wake County Public Schools as an administrator and  was a founding leader and vice principal of her own middle school in Brooklyn, NY. She is  a math teacher always!

Maria served as an advisor to the NC Charter School Advisory Board. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Classical Studies from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Math Education, from St. John’s University and School Leadership from College of St. Rose/SUNY. The daughter of a first-generation Greek immigrant, she is fluent in Greek and has taught the language at the collegiate level. She is the proud mother of her two wonderful children and resides in Raleigh, NC.
